Shanna is a bilingual, dedicated articled clerk in our Fredericton office. With a keen interest in labour and employment, insurance defense, general corporate and commercial matters, and Aboriginal law, she is eager to contribute her knowledge and skills to our team.
As a former President of the Indigenous Law Students Association at the University of New Brunswick’s Faculty of Law, and an intramural basketball player for the UNB Law’s women’s team, Shanna brings leadership, a strong work ethic and a collaborative spirit to every project.
Proud of her L’nu roots, Shanna’s paternal family is recognized by the New Brunswick Aboriginal Peoples Council as off-reserve Mi’kmaq. Her family is originally from Gespe’gewa’gi (meaning the last land), with most of her close relatives now living across the Baie des Chaleurs in the northeastern part of the Acadian Peninsula. Shanna is passionate about using her legal skills to positively impact Indigenous communities.
When she’s not working, Shanna enjoys outdoor activities like fishing, camping, and relaxing by the water. She also values time with her dogs, is an avid reader, and is currently learning to play the violin.
