About Renee

Renee is an Associate in our Halifax office with a practice focused on Business Immigration Law. She supports individuals and businesses dealing with Canadian immigration issues, including work permit and permanent residency applications, temporary resident visas and NAFTA professional visas. By being organized and hardworking, she consistently keeps her clients updated on their immigration statuses.

In 2016, Renee obtained her Juris Doctor of Law and Diploma in Legal Practice from The University of Newcastle. During her studies and as part of her lawyer admission requirement, she worked as an Immigration Law Clerk. While under the supervision of a licensed lawyer, Renee completed several legal training modules which included legal letter writing, document drafting, interviewing, negotiation and settlement, and legal transaction skills.

After completing law school abroad and returning back to Canada in 2017, Renee worked with top tier immigration law firms including Deloitte Canada where she gained five years of US immigration experience and transferrable skills to Canadian immigration matters.

When Renee is not working on client immigration problems, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and practicing yoga. Renee is a current member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society and the Canadian Bar Association, as well as a mentor in the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (NS) mentorship program. Renee also works as an Independent Legal Advice Lawyer for the Government of Nova Scotia’s Independent Legal Advice Program, where she provides free independent legal advice on immigration to adult survivors of sexual assault/violence.
