About Len

Len is a corporate/commercial lawyer with 40 years’ experience providing legal and strategic advice on large projects, often leading teams of McInnes Cooper lawyers. He has acted as lead counsel to government, Crown agencies and private sector entities with respect to P3 infrastructure and energy projects.

Len’s primary practice is energy law in the areas of natural gas, electricity, petroleum products and renewable energy. He has acted for New Brunswick’s natural gas distributor since 1998 and has appeared regularly before the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board (NBEUB) on gas, electricity and petroleum products pricing matters for the past 23 years.

Len has been involved in many significant projects in Atlantic Canada, including the three P3 highway infrastructure projects in New Brunswick and the transformative arrangement between Nalcor and Emera to construct the Maritime Link. He is currently leading a firm initiative to solidify McInnes Cooper as Atlantic Canada’s Major Projects Strategic Advisor.

Len was an early advocate and primary driver for the firm’s consulting advisory firm MC Advisory, which was named 2022 Best Advisory Firm in Atlantic Canada by Atlantic Business Magazine. He is the former Chair of the Board of Directors of McInnes Cooper.
