Joe is a counsel in our Sydney office with a practice primarily in the areas of insurance defence litigation and other civil litigation matters.
Joe has represented numerous insurance companies, government entities, large corporations and other clients in the areas of motor vehicle, commercial and fire insurance defence as well as defence of negligence allegations. He also represents individuals in personal injury litigation. Additionally, Joe represents individual and corporate clients in all types of property law including Land Registration Act transactions, purchase and sale matters and refinancing.
A past member of the Regional Assessment Appeal Court, Joe has heard appeals of property assessments on behalf of the Provincial Government. He presently appears on a regular basis in the Nova Scotia Supreme Court representing the Minister of Health and Wellness for the Province of Nova Scotia in Adult Protection matters. Joe serves the Cape Breton community as a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Cape Breton. He is also a Board Member and Past President of the Island Community Justice Society.
