Alex maintains a practice focused on corporate and commercial law, and real estate transactions.
In his corporate and commercial practice, Alex maintains a transaction-focused practice with a particular concentration on mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, financings, as well as asset purchase and sale transactions across a broad range of industries. Alex routinely acts for financial institutions and private creditors in secured transactions.
Alex has particular expertise in the fisheries industry. He regularly assists fishers and fishing enterprises with licence transfers, the purchase and sale of fishing vessels, and creditors in the design of customized secured financing arrangements (including supply agreements and integrated supply and financing agreements) that are tailor-made to the fishing industry. Alex has considerable experience navigating fisheries regulations and policies, often acting on behalf of clients with DFO, and advising fishing enterprises on the establishment of regulatory compliant business structures.
He also advises private clients, partnerships, and corporations on a broad range of business matters, including the establishment of complex business structures, corporate governance, and succession planning.
Alex graduated with distinction from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He then went on to study both common law and civil law at McGill University, where he received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) degrees.
Alex is a member of the Saint John Law Society, the New Brunswick Law Society and the Canadian Bar Association.
