About McInnes Cooper’s New Partners
Sarah Anderson Dykema, CIPP/C (Halifax) advises a wide range of both public and private sector clients on privacy and data protection, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), technology, software and Saas licensing, consumer protection and advertising, as well as intellectual property matters. She is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional / Canada (CIPP/C).
Robb Baird (Fredericton) practices in the areas of business and technology law, which includes a variety of transactional work and contract negotiations. His clients are often companies with technology at their core or with high growth potential in the startup sector.
Ryan Baxter (Halifax) practices primarily in the areas of health law and the regulation of professions. He acts as general counsel for a number of professional regulators, including the prosecution of regulatory cases. Ryan also adjudicates matters as a member of the Review Board under the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act. Further, Ryan is a part-time Lecturer in the School of Health Administration at Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Health.
Michael Costello (Saint John) practices in the areas of corporate law, pension law, tax law and estate planning. He works closely with accountants to assist business owners with respect to a wide range of matters, including tax structuring, corporate reorganizations and purchase and sale transactions.
Morganne Foley (Saint John) represents individual and corporate clients with respect to a broad range of immigration matters, including applications for temporary resident visas, study permits, work permits and applications for Canadian permanent residency and citizenship.
Dominique Fontaine (Moncton) is a bilingual lawyer with a practice in labour and employment law. She assists employers daily in offering strategic advice on various legal questions, such as the duty to accommodate, human rights, occupational health and safety and terminations. Dominique also applies cross-functional knowledge to deliver quality service to our insurance clients.
Duncan Harvie (Halifax) has a practice focused on commercial transactions including giving advice and assistance on acquisitions, venture capital investments, lender side financing and as general counsel.
Jillian Kean (Halifax) practices primarily in insurance defence litigation, but also works in the areas of class actions, administrative law, and assists Canadian Forces veterans with navigating government benefit plans. Jill is Part-time Faculty at the Dalhousie Schulich School of Law, where she teaches classes in civil procedure and insurance law.
Meghan King (St. John’s) represents her clients, including a number of major banks and private lenders, on a range of commercial transactions, primarily focused on bankruptcy and insolvency matters. She also provides commercial real estate and banking and financial services for small to medium sized businesses, focusing on lending matters.
