The KC designation recognizes lawyers of exceptional merit and significant contributions to the legal profession. KC appointments are granted to senior lawyers with at least 10 years of experience, who have earned the respect of their peers and maintain excellent standing with the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador. The appointments process involves consultation with the legal appointments board, as outlined in the King’s Counsel Act.
Geoffrey is the Office Lead Partner for McInnes Cooper’s St. John’s office. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, specializing in commercial financings and secured transactions, with a particular emphasis on the commercial fishery sector. He has extensive experience appearing before all levels of courts in Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as the Federal Court of Canada and the Supreme Court of Canada.
