Weterings v Liang, 2022 BCSC 2158
On December 9, 2022, Justice Caldwell of the British Columbia Supreme Court awarded the Plaintiff, Mr. Weterings, $505,801 in damages.
The Plaintiff was involved in two motor vehicle accidents in 2011 and 2012. As a result of the accidents, he suffered from chronic pain in his neck and back, headaches, brain fog, anxiety and depression. The Court assessed on-pecuniary damages at $125,000.
At the time of the accident, the Plaintiff worked as a musician and songwriter/ Following the accident, his low energy and chronic pain impacted his ability to perform and find new work. The Court awarded $90,000 for past wage loss and $165,000 for loss of future earning capacity.
